What are you reading?

Personally, I always have at least two or three new books in hand at the same time. There are so many great books to read and so little time! I'll always keep a running list of my current reads in case you're searching for a great find. Please feel free to comment below if you have a must-read for me too!

  • Daring to Hope - Katie Davis Majors
    • A sequel to "Kisses from Katie"...one of my favorites! This a memoir full of truths from an amazing young woman who moved to Uganda to serve the Lord in unexpected ways.
  • The Nightingale - Kristin Hannah
    • I'm just getting started...I'll keep you posted! :)

Finished and Loved:
  • Girls Like Us - Rachel Lloyd
    • A memoir about sex trafficking and fighting for a world where girls are not for sale. Highly recommend!
  • The Joy in Loving - Mother Teresa - Compiled by Jaya Chalika & Edward Le Joly
    • Beautiful insights from an amazingly selfless woman about spending the life we're given truly loving others.
  • Present Over Perfect - Shauna Niequist
    • A great book about slowing down and living in the moment.
  • Bird by Bird - Anne Lamott
    • A beautifully written, charismatic book with "some instructions on writing and life."
  • The Language of Flowers - Vanessa Diffenbaugh
    • An eye-opening, sweet novel about a girl who grew up in the foster-care system, and now, finding her way as a young adult, has a knack for using flowers to convey expressions.

“Oh Lord, thank You for making me empty, so that You can fill me with more of You. I never thought I would or could thank You for this emptiness, but I can feel you filling me up right now, and I know You have only begun! Please use me and use this story You have crafted, Lord. I want to use it to glorify You, Lord, I’m just not sure how yet…” These are the words that I scribbled in my prayer journal about a week ago. My Sweet Paige Abigail, I can’t believe you’ve already been snug in our Savior’s arms for a whole year already. Time sure does fly. But I thank God daily for the gift of you! Even though I wonder all the time about what your sweet smile would’ve looked like right now, a year later, whether or not you would’ve had your momma’s dimples, what your precious little voice would have sounded like and what your first words would’ve been, along with so many other daydreams, I choose to focus instead on all the blessings that you have brought to my life.
